You learned about Michigan's lighthouses from our special guest presenter, Mr. Mike C. Now it's time to experience one in person!

Join us for a scenic day trip to the historic Fort Gratiot Lighthouse, Michigan's oldest lighthouse, located along the beautiful shores of Lake Huron. During our guided tour, you'll explore this iconic landmark, learn about its rich maritime history, and discover the important role it played in guiding ships through the Great Lakes.

After the tour, we'll head to nearby Lighthouse Beach Park, where you can relax, enjoy breathtaking waterfront views, and take in the beauty of Lake Huron while enjoying a delicious boxed lunch.

Meridian Senior Center Trip Cancellation Policy

To ensure the financial viability of Senior Center trips and programs, the following cancellation policy will apply to all day trips and excursions:

Participant Cancellations

• Cancellations made 14 or more days prior to the trip date will receive a full refund, less any non-refundable ticket or processing fees already incurred by the Senior Center.
• Cancellations made 7–13 days prior to the trip date will receive a 50% refund, provided the Senior Center is able to recover costs associated with the reservation.
• Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the trip date are generally non-refundable.

Replacement Participants

If a participant cancels and the Senior Center is able to fill the vacant spot from a waitlist or with another eligible participant, a refund may be issued, less any non-refundable expenses already incurred.

Medical Emergencies

Requests for refunds due to illness, hospitalization, or family emergencies will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Documentation may be requested.

Trip Cancellations by the Senior Center

The Meridian Senior Center reserves the right to cancel a trip due to insufficient registration, severe weather, unsafe travel conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will receive a full refund.

Transportation Delays and Itinerary Changes

The Senior Center reserves the right to make adjustments to trip itineraries, departure times, destinations, or transportation arrangements when necessary due to circumstances beyond our control.

No-Show Policy

Participants who do not attend a trip and fail to notify the Senior Center prior to departure will not be eligible for a refund.

By registering for a trip, participants acknowledge that they have read and agree to this cancellation policy.
