Introduction to Acting

School Year 25-26
Have fun in this introductory acting class as we explore theater basics such as using the actor’s toolbox (voice, movement, and imagination), presenting scenes, performing commercials, working on stagecraft projects, playing theater games and more.
Other notes:
- No previous acting experience is needed.
- Use improvisation techniques
- Bring a character to life
- Make a connection to the audience
- Collaborate with others
- Experiment by using your creativity
This class will allow the participants to build self-esteem and confidence while interacting with others in a fun setting.
William Gordon
Mr. Bill Gordon is a retired school teacher having taught Language Arts and Drama for over twenty-five years. He is a graduate of MSU State having received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Theater.
He has acted in many plays with different organizations, directed over 100 plays and created the Mid Michigan Family Theater which was in operation for ten years. He has taught drama classes for DeWitt DARA Recreation, Haslett Community Education, Lansing Parks and Recreation, and Okemos Community Education.
